The DYMO LabelWriter 450 Duo is the most versatile of the 450 series, featuring output of up to 71 2×7″ labels per minute, as well as a wide variety of other label formats.
DYMO advertises the LabelWriter 450 Duo as the company’s “most versatile label printer,” and they’re not wrong. This bad boy is awesome, and we had a lot of fun testing it out.
In our experience, a lot of people wonder about the difference between this printer and the LabelWriter 450 Twin Turbo. At first glance, both devices seem to serve the same exact purpose, since they each print a a maximum output of 71 labels per minute. However, the main difference lies in the variety of label formats. While DYMO’s Twin Turbo label printer focuses specifically on four-line address labels up to 2×7″ in size, the LabelWriter 450 Duo can print a larger variety of labels than just 2×7″ address labels. For example, people buy this printer for a wide variety of needs outside of shipping, such as organizational and filing labels, name badges, and more.
This printer is the Swiss Army Knife of label printers—it honestly does everything. So, if you need a label printer that can print out multiple formats in addition to shipping labels, then the 450 Duo may be your best option. However, if you only need a quick printer for 2×7″ shipping labels, there’s really no reason to break your bank with a $200+ dollar investment. There are cheaper options out there like the Brother QL-800, which only costs $65, and can print up to 93 2×7″ labels per minute. That’s 31% more labels per minute at roughly one-third of the price.
