The global marketplace is growing, and customers expect to be able to use return labels for international shipments. The good news is, UPS, FedEx, and DHL all offer this service. However, the US Postal Service is the odd man out here.

You Can’t Create International Return Labels with USPS

USPS may be the best shipping carrier option for eCommerce, but international returns is where they lack. USPS doesn’t offer international return labels because you need a valid United States “Ship From Address” to ship with them. Therefore, you can’t use the Postal Service if you’re shipping from anywhere outside of the United States and its territories.

You Can Create International Return Labels with UPS, FedEx, and DHL

Even though you can’t create international return labels with USPS, all the other major carriers offer this service. For your convenience, we’ve linked to UPS’, FedEx’s, and DHL’s international return landing pages below.

Getting the Return Labels to Your International Customers

Getting the return labels to your international customers is quite easy. All of the carriers will let you download the return label as a PDF. You can then email the label to your customer. Some of carriers will even generate a unique link that your customer can click on to print out the label. If all else fails, ask your carrier of choice!
