As Mexico’s economy continues to grow, eCommerce businesses have a unique opportunity to build relationships with customers who live south of the US border. More and more businesses are taking advantage of Mexico’s growing consumer base, and as a result, we often get asked what the cheapest way to ship to Mexico is. Here’s a hint: it’s not UPS or FedEx…

Use USPS to Ship to Mexico

You guessed it. The United States Postal Service is your cheapest option. USPS gives you the best mix of affordable rates and fast delivery times when shipping to Mexico (and pretty much anywhere else in the world, for that matter). Simply put, shipping with USPS will always be cheaper than using any other carrier.

You’ll Save the Most Money With USPS Shipping Software

When you buy postage online with shipping software, you’ll save way more money than buying it at the Post Office. The right shipping software solutions will let you access USPS discounts such as Commercial Pricing, which represents the deepest level of discounts that USPS typically only gives to commercial shippers. This is exactly how you’ll save the most money when shipping to Mexico. The best part about it is: it’s free!

Do I Need to Fill Out a Customs Form?

Yes, you’ll need to fill out a customs form when you ship to Mexico. However, online shipping software solutions automatically generate customs forms for you! That means you don’t need to worry about all the extra paperwork. Just another reason to buy your postage with shipping software.

Hi Jorge, the cost to ship this box depends on the type of shipping software you use. It will also depend on the third dimension – Length, Width and Height. You can get an instant rate quote at this link if you like – you won’t find cheaper rates anywhere else.

Hi, can you provide examples? This post does not help at all. I want to send a gift up to 5 pounds from Florida to GTO Mexico, what are the prices?

      Hi there,

Sorry you didn’t find the post helpful – rates for your package depends on not just the weight, but also the dimensions of your box, and the type of shipping software you use. We can only point you in the direction of the cheapest one! For all of my shipping needs, I use Pirate Ship. You can get an instant rate quote at this link here, if you want. It looks like a 5 pound package going to Mexico from Florida would cost about $57 with Priority Mail International. It would cost $60 at the Post Office.

You’ll really save more money if you found a way to make this shipment lighter, specifically under 4 pounds. Hope this helps!
