FirstMile is an E-commerce shipping and fulfillment solution, but they’re also a shipping consolidator (or work share) partner with USPS. In layman’s terms, that basically means that USPS completes the last mile delivery for all parcels shipped with FirstMile. FirstMile essentially gets to offer their own postage products at discounted rates because they accept the package initially and do some presorting and transportation on their own. However, they ultimately drop the package off at a USPS warehouse as close to the final destination as they can.

Overview:

If you’re reading this review, it means you’re probably interested in finding out how to lower your shipping costs. FirstMile may offer low shipping rates, but we’re here to tell you to tread carefully. Very carefully. E-commerce businesses often get wooed into trying consolidator services like FirstMile because their rates are typically even lower than USPS Commercial Plus Pricing…but it comes at a high price. Users quickly find that it’s not worth it due to unpredictable delivery times, no included insurance, and no free returns. In fact, delivery can end up being anywhere between 4-12 days, as opposed to the 1-3 day timeframe you get from all Priority Mail services when shipping with USPS. Therefore, we highly suggest checking out other shipping software options that are more reliable. Trust us: you’ll end up saving more money (and time) in the long run.

There is never a human being around to answer the phone. I have called on a given day every 15 minutes for 8 hours and get voice mail. They NEVER return calls either.
